Web 3.0 is all about data

Web 2.0 was all about interactivity and information sharing with those social sharing buttons- but what about Web 3.0? I've recently found this quote by @johanstael's twitter stream:
"Reid Hoffman - Internet 3:0 is all about data. That's where investors will be!"
I think this is true. A lot of web-sites these days are for free, but in secret, these web-sites collect data about their users. One example is the company Readmill, who thinks they will make money by selling data about how their users read their books to book publishers.

So if you have a startup - make sure to collect data from your users in some way - that's where the future is.
